Catholic Daughters of America
Bishop Kellenberg #1756
Court Bishop Kellenberg, Catholic
Daughters of America will meet at their monthly meeting, on
Monday, May 17 at 7:30 P.M. in the teachers' lounge of Sacred
Heart School .The new officers will be elected.
CDA promotes and
participates in the religious, charitable and educational
apostolate of the Church.
Bishop Fulton J. Sheen
addressed the delegates at the 24th Biennial Convention held in
1952. He said, “You are the Catholic Daughters of America and I
would like you to become the Catholic Daughters of the World”.
He urged the CDA members to extend theIR charity to the needs of
the poor and to the ends of the world. In 1954 the order changed
its name to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
In September 1957 Ct.
Bishop Kellenberg #1756 was formed and named after the first
Bishop of Rockville Centre Diocese and is honored to hold its
meetings monthly at Sacred Heart.
We now celebrate over
50 years of service to our community as well as on a national
level with Rosemarie Pergolizzi as our Regent..

EDUCATION
CONTEST
The theme of the
2010 Education Contest sponsored by the Catholic Daughters of
America, Court Bishop Kellenberg, #1756 North Merrick is “The
Joys of God surrounds us” and “The Joys life brings through
others.” Open to students in grades 4 to 12, Catholic and all
faiths. The categories are Art, (12”x18”); Essay (not to exceed
500 words); Poetry, (not to exceed 8 lines); Computer Art ( 81/2
x 11) Music, lyrics and notes (melody, harmony, accompaniment)
and Photography, 8x10 photo. Submissions must be created solely
by the student. Prizes are awarded in each category. For
