Alpha
Alpha is a
basic introductory course in the Christian faith for
non-churchgoers, inactive and new Christians as well as faithful
parishioners.
Alpha is a
basic introductory course in the Christian faith for
non-churchgoers, inactive and new Christians as well as faithful
parishioners. Anyone, regardless of religious affiliation, is
invited to attend. People outside our local geographic
area are also invited.
When
people come to Alpha, they find themselves among people who are
the local Church. It is the local parish community that is
opening its doors in an unthreatening way. The Alpha course
provides sufficient time for many of the participants to go
through a significant conversion process. There are 15 talks in
the course, allowing for one talk per evening and additional
talks for a day-long retreat during which participants
experience the person and work of the Holy Spirit.
Each
Alpha evening begins with a dinner, then a video presentation,
then discussion. We sing and we grow. The next free 10-week
Alpha course will begin on March 24th, 2010 in the School
Cafeteria.
